Physical therapy in Camden, Maine
Driftwood is a self-pay physical therapy studio for adults 40 and over. You work one-on-one with a physical therapist, using Pilates-informed movement to build strength, balance and control.

How we work
Pilates-informed means your therapist borrows from Pilates: slow, controlled movement, steady breathing and attention to your trunk, hips and shoulders. We use a reformer and simple props where they help and a mat where they do not. You do not need to have tried Pilates.
You are 40 or older and want to keep hiking, gardening, dancing or lifting
You finished physical therapy elsewhere and still feel unsteady or weak
You want an hour with one therapist, not minutes between patients
You are comfortable paying for care yourself

Two ways to work with us
They are separate, and you can start with either. Each is agreed in writing before you begin.
A planned block of one-on-one hours built around one goal: a trail you want to hike, a trip, a season of tennis. You and your therapist write the plan together.
Includes your evaluation, your one-on-one hours and a home program
Term: a set period you agree in writing
Cancellation: you can stop with notice, and we explain how before you start
Refund: your written agreement says what happens to unused hours
Ongoing one-on-one time for people who want a steady check-in: progressions, strength work and a therapist who knows your history.
Includes regular one-on-one hours and updates to your home program
Term: month to month
Cancellation: cancel before your next billing date
Refund: your membership agreement spells it out
Your start
We ask what you want to get back to, and tell you how we work and what the fee is. This is a call about fit. It is not an evaluation, an assessment or treatment.
A full hour. You talk, then your therapist watches you move, tests strength and balance, and starts hands-on care where it helps.
You leave with a plan in writing and a short home program. What decides how many visits is stated plainly, with no promises.
The studio
Our studio is on Bay View Street in Camden, a short walk from the harbor.
You see a physical therapist at every visit.

Physical Therapist
Works with adults who want to get back to running, lifting and long days on their feet. Leads our strength-after-rehab hours.

Physical Therapist
Sees clients in the studio and by video across Maine. Explains each exercise so you can do it on your own between visits.
Book online in a minute, or call and we'll find a time.
Your therapist tells you the fee on the phone before you book, and you get a written estimate before your first visit.
In Maine you can start without a referral. Your plan may still ask for one if you plan to send it a receipt. Call it first and ask.
No. We are a self-pay practice, so we do not bill Medicare or other plans. After each visit you get a detailed receipt.
That is how every visit here works. You pay on the day, and you get a written estimate before your first visit. How fees work explains the rest.
A visit is a full hour, one-on-one, with the same physical therapist each time you can. Nobody is handed off to an assistant partway through.
It depends on what you want to do, what your body is doing now and how often you practice between visits. Your plan says what decides it, and we revisit it as you go.
Tell us how to reach you and when. We answer on the next working day.
