How fees work

What you pay depends on the visit, not on a plan, because we do not bill plans. Each answer is here in plain words, and your therapist goes through yours on the phone before you book.

  • If you pay yourself

You pay on the day, by card, HSA card or FSA card. We tell you the fee on the phone before you book. We do not bill Medicare or other plans.

    • The length of the visit

    • Which therapist you see

    • In the studio or by video

    • A longer plan, if you choose one

  • Receipts for reimbursement

After each visit you get a detailed receipt with the information a plan asks for. Some plans reimburse out-of-network care and some do not. Your plan decides, so ask it before you start.

  • An estimate in advance

If you pay without insurance, we give you a written estimate before your first visit: what we expect your care to cost and what it includes. If a bill comes in $400 or more above that estimate, you can dispute it.

  • Checking your benefits

We do not bill plans, so there is no coverage for us to check. If you plan to send a receipt to your plan, call it first and ask what it reimburses, what it needs from us and whether it has a deadline.

  • What the first visit includes

Your first visit is a full hour with your physical therapist: a talk about your goals, a movement and strength check, hands-on care where it helps and a plan in writing.

    • A full hour, one-on-one

    • A plan in writing to keep

    • A home program

    • Nothing else decided on day one

Reduced-fee spots

If cost is the hard part

We keep a few reduced-fee spots open for people who would not otherwise be able to come. Ask about them on your first call. The conversation is all we ask for.

If you are not sure self-pay is right for you, we are glad to say so, and to suggest where else to look.
