Your first full hour
Evaluation
A full hour with your physical therapist to understand how you move now and what you want to get back to. Every plan at Driftwood starts here, and you leave knowing what comes next.

This care is for you if…
You are starting care with us
Everyone begins with an evaluation, whether you were sent or came on your own.
You have an ache that is new, or an old one that has changed
We look at how you move, not only at the sore spot.
You were told to build strength after an injury or surgery
And you want help knowing how, and how much.
You want a plan you understand
Before you decide what to do next.
What a visit looks like
A full hour, one-on-one, with a physical therapist.
- 01
Step 1: You talk
Your goals, your history and what a normal week looks like for you.
- 02
Step 2: You move
Your therapist watches how you walk, squat, reach and balance, and checks strength and range.
- 03
Step 3: You start
Hands-on care and a first set of movements where they help, then a plan in writing.
What we do
Named plainly, with no promises about results.
A conversation first
We ask before we touch or test anything, and we listen to the answers.
A movement and strength check
Walking, squatting, reaching, balancing and gripping, in plain clothes.
Hands-on care where it helps
Gentle, and within what you can tolerate.
A written plan and home program
Short enough to do on a busy day.
The practical parts
What decides how many visits
Your goal, what your body is doing now, how often you practice between visits and how you respond. We say so plainly and adjust the plan as you go. We do not promise a number or a result.
Who treats you
Delfina Zelaya, Devonte Carrington or Kamala Rai, each a licensed physical therapist in Maine. License details are at the foot of every page.
How it is paid for
You pay on the day. We tell you the fee on the phone before you book, and you get a written estimate before your first visit. We do not bill Medicare or other plans, and you get a detailed receipt after each visit.
When to see a doctor first
If something feels wrong that you cannot explain, call your doctor before you book. In an emergency, call 911.
Questions about this care
Do I need a referral?
In Maine you can start without a referral. Your plan may still ask for one if you plan to send it a receipt, so call your plan first and ask.
Will it hurt?
Some movements can feel uncomfortable. We work within what you can tolerate, and you can say stop at any time.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear clothes you can move in. Bring what you want to get back to, any reports or scans you have, and your questions.
